Sluggy Freelance: Worship the Comic!

2005-03-02 - 3:03 p.m. This has been a very busy week. Phew! And it does not seem that things will get any better any time soon. Anywhoo, here is my list of the 10 things that I have done and that most of you probably haven't: 10. Fly over Medellin in a helicopter, accompanied by a military escort. 9. Meet President Menem of Argentina. 8. Fish for barracuda in the channels of Cancun, before Cancun was a resort. (Sadly, the channels were dried up and filled in order to make room for the resort. They were gorgeous and I am still sorry that they do not exist anymore.) 9. Climb the pyramids of Uxmal and Chichen Itza. (Well, maybe some of you have done it, but it is still pretty cool.) 8. Being mistaken for the wife of the Ambassador of Spain to Colombia. 7. Admire the beaches of Valparaiso from the window of Pablo Neruda's home. 6. Eaten land turtle (yum). For that matter, eat barracuda (see No. 8). 5. Ride an 18 wheeler. 4. Watch an impromptu native American ceremony at an protocolary meeting and praying that the sprinkler system would not go off. 3. Be the vocalist of a Latin American Folk Music group. 2. Put my sister in a coffin and pretend I was a mourner. (She made a very good looking corpse and every once in a while she would rise up and scare the beejezus out of passers-by. It was the Day of the Dead and it was part of our entry for an exhibit.) 1. Join the Gay Pride Parade in Berlin and end up dancing on top of the ABBA float. (We made CNN.) |
